4 out of 5 stars Works for me.   December 1, 2008
Stephen Slager (Research Triangle, NC, USA)
I got the OVA version of the watch, and it took a while to get used to the side-of-the-wrist positioning. The big numerals are easy to check at a glance while walking, hiking and jogging. But while typing or in a meeting, looking at your watch can be more overt than with a normally positioned watch. Which may or may not be an advantage. Aside from that, it's a highly functional and useful timepiece. No regrets.

1 out of 5 stars Designed not to be used   October 15, 2008
Thomas A. Regelski (Brocton NY USA)
This supposedly "optimal viewing angle" (and all others in the OVA series) is almost useless in practice, especially for triathletes. In biking, it cannot be read without taking your hand off the handbar and turning the inside of your wrist to face you (actually a dangerous move compared to just looking down at your wrist). In running, the face frequently brushes/rubs against your side, especially if wearing a jacket or vest with pockets or tightening tabs. In swimming, you need to drastically orient your left-hand stroke to see the face at all. This watch was designed by people who themselves don't appear to be engaged in any phase of triathalon, even casually. I'd rate it no stars if that was an option. Stay away from OVA!

This Timex color is Golden !!! I was looking for a silver one... The picture is not good... Do you believe this watch is a gold (almost yellow) one ??

2 out of 5 stars Not what I expected   October 7, 2006

Very nice watch with great features BUT it is made to sit on the side of your arm not on top like a regular watch. Yes, it has OVA but I'm not so lazy that I can't turn my arm 90 degrees to see the watch face. Understand OVA before buying this watch.
