Album Description
Holidays with Harry and his 2008 release, What A Night! A Christmas Album. Harry Connick, Jr. is an accomplished singer, pianist, and actor who emerged in the late 1980s as a Sinatra-style crooner for a new generation. As a musician, his influences include Bebop, New Orleans Jazz, and big-band swing. His score for the film When Harry Met Sally brought him national acclaim and an Oscar. He has appeared in many films and he is known for his Pop music as well.

5 out of 5 stars Love It!   January 7, 2009

As always, Harry Connick Jr. delivers. I loved this cd and I would probably be tempted to listen to it even after the holidays are long gone. :)

4 out of 5 stars We're just wild about Harry!   January 7, 2009

Yet another example of why Harry Connick, Jr. is a great musician. We get most of his albums, and they never disappoint!

4 out of 5 stars Jazzy renditions of classic Christmas tunes....   January 6, 2009

A nice change of pace from typical Christmas albums... different arrangements, tracks that sound looser and more improvised instead of stiffly-practiced and performed, relaxed and upbeat at the same time.

While I don't love every track on this disc, I do enjoy most of them, and that's about what I expect with any album.

Nicely done and refreshing.

Harry Connick Jr. provides his own style to some Christmas classics. It may not be your ultimate selection or the style you were expecting, but it is his unmistakable voice with a cool and relaxed feel.

2 out of 5 stars What A Disappointment!   January 6, 2009

I love Harry Connick, Jr.'s work, and I have several of his CDs including his last Christmas collection which I pull out first when the holiday season arrives. I was anxious to buy "What A Night!...." and then disappointed when I listened the first time. To me it is a little dull and not nearly as much fun as his other great music.
