5 out of 5 stars Love this Stroller!   December 17, 2008
Matisse (Chicago)
I was hesitant about spending the money on this stroller, especially since I was going to use it as my single stroller for a few years before having my second child. Well, all I have to say is, this stroller is HEAVEN.

I use it on average of twice a day to walk my dog. It has seen rain, ice, and, most recently, tons of snow. It takes a bit of effort to get it through an unshoveled sidewalk, but it goes, and my daughter seems to even enjoy the rough ride --laughing and smiling as we go.

It also seems like it is made of solid materials and should have no problem lasting for the long haul.

I was giddy with delight when we took it out of the box and saw in person how clever this stroller is, and now, after using it for close to 8 months, I still can't believe how wonderful it is!

In terms of a comparison, I walk with a friend that has a bugaboo. There really is no comparison between these strollers, and my friend will be buying a Phil and Ted when she has another kid. I have no problem going over curbs, etc. while my friend tends to turn the stroller around. Can you imagine spending 800 on a stroller that you turn around to go over curbs?!?!?!

I highly recommend this stroller as a single, and can't wait to get to use it as a double. Well worth the money, and in the long run, I think it is the most economical way to go --if you plan on having kids close together in age.

This stroller is also not that heavy and it fits easily in my small Honda Civic's trunk--mind you, not much else will fit in the truck, but the stroller does.

After fretting for months over what stroller to buy, I can say that I have not once had any regrets about this purchase. Instead, I've just been delighted and pleased as punch to have such a wonderful stroller to push my little girl in every day.

5 out of 5 stars Great stroller BUT MAJOR SAFETY FAULT!!!   August 18, 2008

This stroller has a major safety fault. The US distributor, Regal Lager is recalling all Dash strollers. Phil & Teds hasn't released anything at this point.

The locking mechanism on the right side is defective and does not lock; the latch gets stuck inside the frame tubeand does not engage the lock when the stroller is "opened." The stroller collapsed (folded on itself) while pushing it with two of my children (2 yr & 6 months) in it this morning - luckily neither was injured, but we believe this is a MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.

We found a few blogs online that indicated we are not the only ones to have this problem (for one example, see
http://strollersandprams.com/strollers/435/Phil-and-Teds-Dash/reviews.ht
ml#reviews ). Also, at least one retailer has acknowledged the issue in
the past few days

phil-and-ted-dash-stroller/ ).

Original Review:

This is the last (finally) in a long line of strollers.

My husband and I are stationed at Osan AB S Korea with our 4 kids. It's a walking base and we rarely drive. This stroller is great for going through doorways (unlike side by side doubles) and is easy to push - it even comes with a strap for safety when going down hills.

I was worried about the 2nd kid looking at the sibling's seat and being bored but that's not the case. When the stroller arrived (quickly I might add) my 2-year old ran to it and climbed into the bottom seat, strapped herself in and giggled. A lot of people on this base have the stroller and said the older sibling liked the bottom and this proved it for me. It's like being in a little fort. She loves her special place.

I'm 5'4 and it was very comfortable to push. I didn't feel hunched over and I didn't hit the doubles seat with my knees. I was even fine jogging with it for a bit (note - it's NOT a jogging stroller). But my 5'10" hubby said he hit his knees on it the 3 seconds he pushed it.

My only downside is that with my 2-year old in the bottom, I can't really put much in the basket or she'll get her feet all over it. And if I hang my awesome Ju-Ju-Be on the handlebar with the Be-Connected straps it will hit my daughter in the head - even the smallest bag I have! I ended up buying the Panier bags to attach to the sides. It could also use a cupholder and tray which you can buy after market.

So bottom line - I love it and my 5-month old and 2-year old love it.
