Amazon.com Product Reviews
An innovative design for a lightweight tandem stroller, the Joovy Caboose ultralight stand-on tandem stroller manages to fit into a 21-pound stroller all of the feature--and then some--of a traditional sit-and-stand. The front seat of the Caboose can fit a variety of infant car seat carriers, and once the child is older than six months, they can be strapped in with a traditional five-point harness. It also has two reclining positions, adjustable footrest, tray with drink holder, and a full canopy. The rear section is for children 2.5 years and older and less than 44 inches tall. While standing they have foam-padded handles, and the padded rear seat gives them a break. Just lock the rear bench seat and buckle the three-point harness, and you're ready to maneuver your way indoors and out. The Neoprene parent organizer is handy, and stow your diaper bag underneath (although, it could stand to be a little larger). The aluminum frame is lightweight and sturdy, and the sage rip-stop nylon helps repel spills and can take a lot more abuse than other fabrics. The manufacturer recommends not exceeding a combined weight of 90 pounds. Compatible car seats: - Graco Snug Rider series
- Graco Safe Seat
- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio
- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP
- Evenflo Embrace
- Compass Light and Portable infant car seat
- Britax Companion
- Safety 1st Designer 22
- Eddie Bauer Infant Car Seat (models 22-625 and 22-626)
- Baby Trend Latch-Loc and Flex-Loc
- Chicco Key Fit car seat

- Combi Connection

Universal Car Seat Adapter fits most major brands. View larger. | Streamlined Efficiency and Convenience Double strollers can be bulky and difficult to maneuver, with side x side seats creating an extra-wide profile, or other tandems being too deep to maneuver easily. The Joovy Caboose ultra-light, however, is designed for streamlined ease. Weighing in at just 21 pounds and sporting a neat, compact profile, the Joovy Caboose ultra-light Stand-on Tandem Stroller is a breeze to get around. It measures 41.5 x 21.5 x 38 inches (HxWxD). Sealed ball-bearing wheels contribute to a smoother ride as well, and a foam-padded handle offers additional comfort. A roomy under-seat basket provides room for your traveling essentials, and the nifty neoprene "Cool Essentials Parent Organizer," which includes a cup holder, keeps keys, your cell phone, and a drink close at hand. A Fun, Comfortable Ride The stroller is compatible with many infant car seats (see list below), offering easy "snap and go" convenience for traveling with a young infant. Once your baby is old enough to sit up independently, she can sit facing forward, secured safely with a five-point harness. Snacks and a drink are close at hand thanks to the removable child tray, and a wide sun shade keeps her safe from the elements. Whether you're browsing at the mall or trekking through the zoo, your older child will love the versatility that the Joovy Caboose ultra-light provides. When she gets tired of walking, she can simply hop onto the standing platform. Comfortably padded handles are available for her to hold. Or she can take a rest on the adjustable, padded seat, which is also equipped with a three-point harness. 4 Stars for Looks 2 Stars for Performance January 1, 2009 David M. Chism (San Diego) Written by the Husband but my wife agrees with me!
I was given this stroller as a gift for performing some service work from the CFO of Joovy. I am VERY grateful to have received the stroller and the privilege to review how well it performs. I told them I had a double Phil & Ted stroller I really liked it, but was having our third child and would love to try another double stroller!
My overall opinion of the Joovy Double Stroller is relatively simple. I give it four stars for the look, the colors, the cool features but unfortunately 2 stars performance. I did not have high hopes after setting the stroller up when I saw the main problem: 4 wheels instead of three and the types of wheels used.
If Joovy would make one simple change to their strollers, I would rate the stroller most likely a 5 star for performance and looks! It is a cool stroller to look at but NOT...I repeat NOT to push.
PROS - Cost is reasonable - Design (minus wheels) - Colors) - Features and Gadgets - Stand or Sit Feature - Perfect for walking around a mall (not through a store: just the mall)
Major CONS - VERY hard to push with two kids on a sidewalk with driveways. Every driveway you come to, the stroller will not steer straight but will move to the left and want to go down the driveway to street. - You need two hands to operate. Can't drink coffee or anything using a Joovy. - Cannot push through a store, aisle, anything. - Very difficult to turn with two kids no matter where you are, and I'm a tough guy writing this article, not my wife! We both agree with my conclusions! :) - Because it is a 4-wheel stroller and long, it feels like it is going to break when I turn a corner or turn at all.
Conclusion or Suggestion If Joovy changes to a three wheel design, the balance will be amazing and this stroller will ROCK. However, if they do change to a three wheel design, they should use rubber wheels that you inflate. Otherwise, you'll be replacing the cheap foamish plastic material that is currently on the wheels once a year on normal use.
It would take the work of a creative engineer to find a way to make a three wheel Joovy Stroller, but it is the ONLY way to compete with the BIG Dogs: Phil & Ted. I have had a Phil and Ted for 2 years and can't brag enough about it! It is expensive but worth EVERY Penny. I love the Joovy concept though...and wish I could speak highly of this stroller!
No other double stroller can compare to this one! December 12, 2008 D. Ha (Houston, TX USA) I absolutely love my Joovy. We've had it for 9 months now and I have almost zero complaints.
Pros -Lightweight -Fitted in the trunk of my Toyota Camry and now in the rear of my Toyota Sequoia even with the 3rd row in use. -My daughter loves that she can sit or stand in the back or even hog the front seat. I am able to fit the baby carrier in the front or the back. -Comes with the Parent Organizer.
Cons -Now that my little one doesn't need his baby carrier anymore, my only complaint is that the 5 point harness in the front is really tight. I think it's because my child is just abnormally large, but it's not a biggie. I just use the lap belts by themselves, and it works just fine.
Also, to those who complain that there isn't any storage. Just get The Mommy Hook Stroller Hanger - Black, problem solved!
Stroller for Two December 1, 2008 Claudia Anderson (Des Moines, IA) I have had my Joovy Caboose Ultralight for almost a month and love it. It is light weight and easy to fold and unfold. I have a 3 year old and a newborn, this stroller fit my needs perfect because my 3 year old doesn't like to always ride in a stroller, yet she gets tired of walking. The "stand" part of the stroller is perfect for her, she can even sit down on the little bench if she wants too. The only problem I've encountered so far is that when using with an infant seat the older child does not have a lot of room to sit. However, that seems to bother me more than my 3 year old. I have a Peg Perego infant seat and it's fabulous that the Joovy Caboose compatible with that seat. I wish there was more storage, but I new before buying that storage was limited and made adjustments. I bought the J.J. Kole diaper bag system that hangs on the handle (works fabulous). I also bought the parent tray for the Joovy Caboose and that holds everything I need at arms length . . . bottled water, keys, bottle, pacifier, phone . . . I am very satisfied with the stroller and would advise anyone looking at double strollers to consider this. Especially if you have a toddler like mine who doesn't want to just sit in a stroller all the time.
Love the Joovy November 26, 2008 A. Flynn (Mountain View, CA United States) What an awesome package deal Amazon had. It came with two extra accessories so I didn't have to pay extra to buy them (it was a speacial seat cover and the parent organizer). The item did not say these two accessories were included so I was pleasantly surprised when I found them in the box. I love the color and functionality and my three year old loves riding on it, whether sitting or standing. And because it's the ultralight, it's manageable to steer and to put away in the car.
Great stroller but could use some improvements. November 23, 2008 Gina R. Campbell I really like this stroller however the basket could be a little larger and easier to get too. It does not have a standard cup holder but mine came with one and it would be great if it had a harder one. I understand that it needs to be soft for your little one but they could put it to the outside of the stroller towards you that way it won't get in the way of your little one standing or getting in/out of the stroller. Very light weight stroller and that's great. We recently took it on a weekend trip and I have no complaints about the weight or how it handles. As explained before it could use some improvements with other things.
