Product Description
This nasal cleaner is with a tube for mother to vacuum out baby's mucus. You can feel and control vacuum suction. When the nose is clear, you will feel the free air go in your mouth. The mucus will be collected in the container. All parts are detachable for cleaning (the large white part can be separate into two parts as well). Just rinse with warm or hot water right after each use. It can also be sterilized in boiling water (except the clear container and carry case). I personally like to hold the baby upright when vacuuming the mucus, so I can control the directions as well. A storage case is included. Its a very handy tool when baby got the running or stuffy nose. (Pigeon is a renowned Japanese company producing high quality baby products. Selling in over 50 countries and for nearly 50 years, the company has earned a reputation for safety and reliability around the world.) Nose tweezer sold separately. Made in Japan. Low flat rate shipping per combined shipment.

5 out of 5 stars This readlly works!   January 5, 2009

I wish I got this earlier. My 17-month old baby got a bad cold and ear infection. We tried to clear his stuffy nose with the bulb but that didn't work at all so I ordered this one. It worked so much better than the bulb. I have recommended this to every friend of mine who has a baby.

5 out of 5 stars I'm so glad I purchased this!   December 29, 2008

The Pigeon nasal aspirator works wonderfully! I did a search on nasal aspirators to try and find one that worked at LEAST as well as the one provided by the hospital, when I ran across this style. After reading the reviews, it intrigued me. With the "blue bulb" from the hospital, there were times when I would suction my son's nose and just when the bulb was back to it's normal shape, I could hear more mucous that was "almost" suctioned out - very frustrating. I decided to go ahead and try this one and see how it worked. The other day, my son had a little bit of a stuffy nose (he's at the tail end of a cold - of course I order this product AFTER the cold!). I decided to give this a try to test it out. Wow, did it work! It requires very little sucking, and my son seemed to be fascinated - he had a little half smile on his face the whole time! It didn't go up his nose - it stays right at the "entrance" - you just wiggle it around, and the suction strength and duration was controlled by me. I just rinsed all of the parts in hot water when I was through. I can't say that I'm looking forward to his next cold, but I CAN say that I'm not worried about him having a stuffy nose! Bring it on!

My baby is about 11 weeks old and has a lot of mucus in her nose. She has been having trouble sleeping and breastfeeding due to the congestion. The doctor says she isn't sick it is just normal baby congestion whatever that means. We tried the bulb syringe but she hates it and throws a fit when she sees it coming and it was rather ineffective. I was desperate to find something else so I did some searching and found this interesting item. It is wonderful and so worth the money.

The first time I tried it I was ready for her to cry and pitch a fit but nothing happened. My husband held her upright and talked to her and she smiled and cooed the whole time. Believe it or not, I had seen a device similar to this on the show Dirty Jobs (used to collect Turkey semen) so I already understood how it worked and knew I wasn't going to get anything yucky in my mouth. I did about three suctions in each nostril and stuff came out every time. Most of it collected in the white part of the device but I did get a little in the bottom of the cup. It didn't take a lot of suction in fact not much more that drinking from a straw in my opinion. After we finished she was clear for the first time in days...woo hoo. I could hear an immediate difference. I'm hoping we all get to sleep a little more tonight!! I'm betting this will work even better with some saline drops but I wanted to see what it would do on its own the first time.

I cleaned it easily with warm water and a little dish soap. I'm a germaphobe so I also used the tiny brush that came with my Dr. Browns bottles to clean the inside of the device, it fit perfectly. Lastly I put a cup of water in the microwave for a minute and used some metal kitchen tongs to dip each part for a few seconds. Everything comes out very clean. It says in the directions not to get the collection cup too hot so I only dipped it briefly. I always hated that I couldn't really clean my bulb syringe but this thing can really be cleaned and boy was it easy!

The baby HATES the bulb syringe to clear his nose...
with this crazy snot sucker thing, he actually GIGGLES. I'm ordering one for all my friends with babies. Packaging is all in (Japanese?) but some pretty funny instructions (in broken english) are included. AWESOME GADGET!!

5 out of 5 stars Works great, easy to clean, a baby MUST HAVE!!   December 15, 2008
Working Mom (Merry Maryland)
Our friends in Japan introduced us to this baby necessity. Apparently, every household has one of these over there. I took a class on medical microbiology and it has increased my awareness of germs ten-fold, so I am happy to report that this item truly is hygienic and very easy to clean. I was surprised that our toddler also asks for this to help him 'blow his nose' and baby does not cry or turn away - much more pleasant for them I think. I just wish I had this from the start - this really is a baby must-have! Works best on thin/thinned mucus.
