Amazon.com Product Reviews
The Sumer Infant Custom-Fit gate lets you tackle the dilemma of cordoning off unusual openings and areas in your house. Being as much as 12 feet wide or as little as six feet, the Custom-Fit gives you the freedom of blocking staircases or for use in extended openings--think living room. The gate comes with hardware to mount to the walls and a template; all you need is a screwdriver. The locking door swings both directions for easy passage without removing the entire gate-- no more hurdling to save time. The fabric is soft and durable, and the panes are pretty much transparent, so the little ones won't miss any of the action when behind the gate. No bars or metal and wood also reduce the likelihood of injury. --Scott Teal

Not for Drywall January 9, 2009 JennK (Montgomery, AL USA) The door works well, the gate was easy to install, but it should not be marketed for drywall in Any way. It comes with anchors that are too flimsy, so I bought the best anchors on the market. It took my 11 month old, who is not even walking yet, one week to rip it out of the wall. Unless you have a stud to screw this into, do not buy this product.
DO NOT BUY THIS GATE! December 31, 2008 K. I. Winters Please save your money, this was a real waste. After just 3 months one of the PLASTIC hinges broke. When we contacted Amazon they very nicely sent us a replacement, but sure enough it broke again - this time on 3 hinges. It's now utterly useless unless we have it totally taped up. Amazon said we could return it, but they couldn't guarantee if we'd be refunded. We had the replacement just 9 months before it was broken again - $99 should last longer than that. Save your money and buy another brand from the get go - this one is a real bust and I'm surprised that Amazon is selling something so useless and such a rip-off.
LOVE IT December 22, 2008 Stephanie M. Christopoulos (GA) I really like this gate, it is perfect for the size room that I have and it is a neutral color.....
Fits my needs perfectly! December 12, 2008 D. Frasier (Arizona) I am a mom of three small children under five, and I babysit two toddlers during the week. We have a large opening between our kitchen and dining area, so I needed a wide baby gate to keep the kids out of the kitchen. We love this gate! It looks nice and is very functional. Within two days operation of the built-in gate became second nature to us and the lock over the handle is nice to keep the older kids out (as they have figured out how to open it otherwise). If you will be anchoring the gate to drywall I'd suggest heading to the hardware store to get some decent drywall anchors - the ones it came with are very flimsy. But it's a small price to pay for a very nice and functional extra wide gate. Definitely one of the best "baby gear" purchases I've made!
Pleased with price and flexibility December 12, 2008 A. Groves Good product for the price. Was flexible to fit a large opening between two rooms, and pretty easy to install. Would recommend.
