 MADE IN CHINA!! Quality questionable. January 2, 2009

I love the look of the shoe, but after paying $89, I would expect them to last longer. The hemp material on the sides is like a weave that if one strand wears out the rest continues to unravel and fall off. I was also surprised to see the "made in China" tag on the inside, since these were touted as so eco friendly--I know China is on the same planet, but saving the planet by making these out of recycled materials kind of seems secondary to the fact that there was lots of fuel used to ship these shoes all the way from China---lets make some shoes out of materials already here in OUR landfills.

This WAS my favorite pair of shoes. They are cute and comfortable, and I love that they are made from sustainable and recycled materials.
However, they do not hold up under normal wear. I should have known better, this is the second pair of Simple Shoes I have worn out in about two months of use.
I was wearing my shoes, as most people do, and they got dirty. I hand-washed them with a mild soap, which ended up removing a lot of the color (I got the wave patterned, lint ones). I figured, no problem. They were still wearable. But, they got dirty again, as shoes often do. This time I stuck them in the washer. I put them in the dryer for a bit, and most of the gummy rubber came out from in-between the sole and the uppers. Now the shoe is totally unwearable. Too bad.
I'd buy another pair, but they didn't really match anything anyway. For 80 bucks, I expect my shoes to last longer than two months!

These shoes are so comfy and easy to wear. They run perfectly to my size.
Yes, they do give a wide look to the foot, but hey I am a size 5 so they don't bother me at all. The shipping? super fast. will be back.

These shoes are comfy and stylish -- the fit was perfect (true to my normal size). The bumps on the bottom inside the shoe feel good on your feet, but if you're doing a lot of walking they can get a bit annoying. That would be my only MINOR complaint -- but I do a lot of pavement pounding, so don't let this deter you.

These shoes are fantastic. They took very little time to ship, and I haven't taken them off of my feet since I bought them. Probably one of the most comfortable pair of casual shoes I've ever owned. I wish they sold this brand in more store locations! I love the fact that they are made out of recycled materials. They may be a bit on the pricey side for casual shoes, but it makes me feel good knowing I bought something that someone: 1-Didn't kill an animal to make, and 2-recycled something to make.
